Dr. Matthaei, LCSW

I am a licensed psychologist, specializing in adult and child/adolescent psychology. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach; whereby, I work with clients to understand the interaction between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to make healthy and intentional choices. With over ten years of experience in private practice, I use compassion and empathy to develop a comfortable and supportive therapeutic relationship.

I work with clients to process emotions and thoughts related to challenging or traumatic experiences and teaching the tools necessary to address overwhelming thoughts that cause stress, anxiety, and depression. This is effective for parents experiencing loss or coping with diagnoses, emerging adults dealing with a period of instability, and adolescents struggling with sexuality, bullying or stress.

As a school psychologist, Supervisor of Special Services and a member of a multidisciplinary team at Great Ormond Street Hospital (London, UK), I have evaluated and developed interventions for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, depression, anxiety and social skills deficits. Currently, I consult with school staff and families to help children achieve success.

We are mental health providers which specialize in a variety of conditions including Generalized Anxiety disorder, Major Depression, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar, Mood disorders, Autism, Personality disorders, Anger management, Addiction.
